Canonmills
Edinburgh's hidden gem between New Town and Leith
About Canonmills
Canonmills doesn't have a loud identity, which is precisely why it works. It takes the best elements of its famous neighbours — New Town's quality housing stock, Leith's community feel, Stockbridge's independent shops — without the premium price tag attached to any of them. The Water of Leith walkway runs through, connecting you on foot to Stockbridge to the west and eventually Leith to the east. Eyre Place has some excellent restaurants. The area is mostly residential, mostly quiet, and mostly pleasant. For those priced out of Stockbridge but wanting something of the same feel, Canonmills is the obvious next step.
